The plaque commemorates those who served with the No. 2 Squadron Royal Australian Air Force in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.  The plaque is dedicated to those who paid the supreme sacrifice and commemorates the 90th anniversary of the formation of the squadron.

Dedicated to the memory of all Squadron members who paid the supreme sacrifice.  

"Lest We Forget"

2 Sqn formed 20 Sep 1916 the only AFC / RAAF Sqn to engage in four major wars.  Served in WWI on the Western Front, France; WWII in Darwin; the Dutch East Indies & Borneo Malaya Emergency and the Vietnam War.

WWII awarded the United States Presidential Unit Citation.
Vietnam War awarded the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry & United States Air Force Outstanding Unit Commendation, making it the most  highly decorated Squadron in the RAAF.
