The hall commeorates those who died in service or were killed in action in World War One and World War Two.

An appeal to raise funds for the Northam RSL memorial hall and clubrooms was officially launched at a reunion dinner held by the Northern sub-branch of the league on the 5th November 1948.

The Northam RSL Hall and clubrooms were opened by the Governor of Western Australia, Sir Charles Gairdner on the 29th October 1954. The building was built by the local sub-branch and designed by W.G.Bennett and Associates. A feature of the facade of the building is a memorial niche in which is set plaques bearing the names of those killed in the two World Wars.
