The Weipa War Memorial commemorates Australian servicemen and women who have served in all wars and conflicts. It replaces the previous war memorial which was unveiled in 1978.
In 2010 the Weipa War Memorial was upgraded and enhanced due to a partnership between Weipa RSL and the Queensland Government, with a Community Memorials Restoration grant assisting to finance the new memorial. The current Weipa War Memorial was unveiled in October 2010.
