Millmerran Memorial Bowls ClubPrint Page
The Bowls Club commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
A bowling club, to be known as the Millmerran Memorial Bowling Club, was formed at an enthusiastic public meeting at Millmerran last night. Officers elected were:—President, Mr. A. R. Bliss; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. A. Erbs and L. T. Ott; secretary, Mr. B. Condell; auditor, Mr. W. Dwyer; committee, Messrs. P. R. Greenfield, W. B. Lovell, M. Proctor, W. J. Twidale, B. P. Evans, Bruce Wilson, Charles Wilson, J. J. Macdermott, W. Harris, W. G. Fitzgerald, T. Thieme and C. Madge.
The meeting appointed a deputation to negotiate with representatives of the Millmerran sub-branch of the R.S.S.A.I.L.A., for the use of the bowling green and facilities sponsored by the sub-branch, and on which £380 has been expended. The treasurer and secretary of the Plttsworth Bowling Club (Messrs. D. C. Munro and K.C. Smythe) attended the meeting and gave considerable information and advice on bowling-club finance and equipment to the meeting. The new club will affiliate with the Queensland Bowling Association, and adopted a set of rules similar to those of the Plttsworth Club. Membership fee was fixed at £4/4/- per annum.
