The hall was erected to commemorate those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
It is hoped that, a start will not be long delayed in the erection of a memorial hall. A sum oí £300 will be made available by the Government on a like amount being contributed locally, and this total is in sight. The site, on municipal ground, is at the Junction of the Devonport and Old Coast roads. It is hoped that volunteer labor will be forthcoming for the erection of a concrete brick structure. The organiser, Mr. J. Cole, is confident that he will be able to marshal many local residents.
