The monument commemorates the 70 soldiers from Boyanup who served in World Wars One and Two. It was relocated from in front of the post office to the Memorial Park in 1955.
The memorial obelisk was originally unveiled unveiled by Mrs Simmons, Mrs Hurst and Mrs W.J.Ecclestone on the 24th November 1917 in memory of the gallant lads who left Boyanup to fight for freedom of the Empire. The memorial was erected by public subscription.
