The memorial commemorates Prisoners of War and those missing in action from the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

The plaque is an acid etched granite plaque on a concrete base with an image of a Prisoner Of War with lowered head. A strand of barbed wire is below the chin and a camp observation tower behind the head.
