The monument commemorates those who served in World War One and World War Two.

It was originally erected to commemorate those who served in World War One. 

The Acting-Premier (Mr. J. G. Bice), who, in company with the Inspector General of Hospitals (Dr. B. H. Morris), and Mr. McMillan. M.P. (the member for the district), left Adelaide on Saturday morning for Pinnaroo to unveil a war memorial on Sunday, returned to Adelaide on Monday.
