The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
Work will begin soon on a £12,700 memorial hall and RSL clubrooms for the Corporation of Mitcham. Situated on Goodwood Road, it will be called "The Westbourne Park Memorial Hall." The Mitcham Council will pay £8,480 toward the building and the Westbourne sub-branch of the RSL the remaining £4,240. The builders are P. F. Welford & Sons, and the architects Messrs. Garlick, Jackman & Gooden.
