Tongala & District Bush Memorial Hospital Foundation StonePrint Page
The Tongala and District Bush Memorial Hospital was opened on 12th September 1925 to commemorate those who died in World War One. The Foundation Stone had additional tablets added to it to commemorate those who served in World War Two.
In 1990, the Hospital was closed and the land is now occupied by a private residence. All that remains of the Hospital are the marble foundation stone and honour rolls which are now located at the RSL Club.
The new cottage Memorial Hospital is almost completed. The unveiling of the memorial stone and tablets will take place on Saturday, September 12, at 3 o`clock. Senator Brigadier-General Elliot will perform the opening ceremony and the Premier (Mr John Allan) will be in attendance.
