The monument commemorates those who died in service or were killed in action during World War One and World War Two.
It was originally erected to commemorate those who died in service or were killed in action during World War One; with the names of those who died in service or were killed in action in World War Two added at a later date.
On Thursday last, Mr. Beardmore, M.L.A., unvelled a handsome memorial obelisk which had been erected by the residents to the Tallangatta Valley fallen soldiers. There are eleven names inscribed on the obelisk which is of Harcourt granite, 20 feet high.
