The War Memorial commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. The memorial was originally erected in memory of those from the district who died in service or were killed in action during World War One. The names of the fallen of World War Two were added to the memorial at a later date and additional plaques have been added to commemorate later conflicts.
ROMSEY, Wednesday. A monument erected by the residents of Romsey to the memory of the fallen soldiers of the district was unveiled by Mr.A.F. Cameron, M.L.A., today, in the presence of about 400 persons. The visitors included Messrs. Lister and Paterson, M.H.R`s, who were entertained by the shire president.
