The monument commemorates those who served in the conflicts in the Korean War, the Vietnam War and South East Asia (Malaya and Borneo). It was presented to the Central Goldfields Shire Council in 2006 in commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan.
This monument is another example of cooperative efforts within the veterans` community, particularly between the Vietnam Veterans` Association of Australia, and local and regional government.
