Balliang East Soldiers Memorial HallPrint Page
The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. It was originally erected in 1930 to commemorate those who served in World War One, and was rebuilt sometime in the 1970s.
In the presence of a large attendance, Mr Angliss M.L.C. opened the new Soldiers Memorial hall at Balliang East on Saturday afternoon. The hall cost £800, of which £600 has already been subscribed by the public. At night the Werribee Pierrots gave a concert, and this in conjunction with an "American tea," realised £25 for the building fund.
The Argus (Melbourne), 7th April 1930.
