The monument commemorates those who served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
It was originally erected to commemorate those who served in World War One with the names of those killed in action during World War Two added at a later date.
Behind the monument is a wall containing several plaques and insignias.
The monument was relocated to its present position in 1999 and the ground dedicated on the 11th November 2000.
