The monument commemorates those who have served in World War One, World War Two, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. It was originally erected to commemorate those who served in World War One and there was a captured decommissioned machine gun on the top of the memorial, which was requisitioned by the Australian Army.
Replacement guns have been mounted but have been stolen on at least two occasions.
It is a column made of sandstone and set on a cement paved area, and lists the names of 15 soldiers who served in World War One, and 27 who served in World War Two.
