The cenotaph commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

It consists of two stone piers on a cement slab on a stone base.  There is a metal arch over the piers and there are two flagpoles on the west side.

It contains honour rolls of those who served in World War One, World War Two and Vietnam. The Honour Roll for World War One was originally located at Old Adaminaby and unveiled on the 11th November 1925. The World War Two names were sandblasted onto a marble tablet which was imported from Italy and unveiled on 7 April 1961.

The Vietnam Honour Roll was added to the memorial at a later date. A National Service plaque was added in 2009.
