Plaque :

Avoca Avenue of Honour

The avenue of trees would be a living memorial to remind the community of the deed performed by brave soldiers who fought for their King, country and liberty, some of whom would never return, - and would also - serve to beautify the town and provide continuous shade for train travellers as they made their way to town

The adjacent three large gum trees remains as examples from the original planting 100 years

This Place of Contemplation offers vistors the opportunity to reflect on the past, enjoy the pleasures of the present and
envisage the possibilities of the future.

Take time to experience the majesty of this place with its changing vistas and distant horizons.

Allow the peace and serenity to touch you so you may capture its sense of harmony.

Dedicated to the memory of the soldiers who have served our country across all conflicts and also the early pioneers of Avoca who shaped our town.

Plaque :

The Ode

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old

Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them

Lest We Forget
