The memorial porch was erected in memory of those connected with the church who lost their lives in both World Wars and is also in memory of old pioneers. The porch contains memorial windows.

On the day after her 90th birthday (on August 26 last) Mrs. Stacey of Yankalilla, laid the foundation stone of the Memorial Porch at the Yankalilla Methodist Church, honoring the memory of fallen soldiers of both world wars, and also pioneers of the Church. Mrs. Stacey's mother it was who laid the foundation stone of the Church itself seventy years ago.

On Saturday, 3rd December, a memorial porch will be opened by the president of the Methodist Conference, and the memorial windows to the old pioneers and deceased servicemen of both World Wars will be unveiled by representatives of those bodies. Much of the work of erecting the porch has been done by church members, and when completed, will enhance the church and add to the comfort of this sturdy old building. The ceremonies will take place at 11 a.m., and will be followed by a luncheon at 12 noon. The president will give an address and in addition a musical programme will be presented. Special services will be held on Sun day at 11 a m. and 7 p.m. The trust iextends a cordial invitation to all friends and visitors to attend these celebrations.
