Memorial Drive Print Page
Memorial Drive commemorates those who have served in conflicts in which Australia has been involved. The road is approximately 10 km from Gwynneville in the south through to Bulli in the north.
The original Memorial Drive was opened in stages between 1963 and 1992, between the F6 Southern Freeway (now Princes Motorway) and Bellambi Lane. It was previously known as the F8 Northern Distributor.
A commemorative plaque was commissioned by the Wollongong RSL Sub-Branch. It was mounted and dedicated by the President of NSW RSL G E Priest at the then northern end of the Drive in 1994, at the corner of Towradgi Road.
