The monument commemorates the Berri War Memorial Community Centre which was established in 1947 to commemorate those who have served in the various conflicts in whcih Australia has been involved.
The Community Centre now owns and operates the Berri Riverside Caravan Park and contributes funding to various Berri based organisations.
