Plaque :

They gave their lives for this public gift they received praise which never ages and a tomb most glorious ... 

Not so much the tomb in which they lie but that in which their fame survives to be remembered for ever when occasion  comes for word or deed

16th October 1965

The northern entrance to this Library was officially opened by His Worship the Mayor of Mitcham K. W. Pearson Esq.
