LEST WE FORGET
"They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning.
We will remember them
Lest We Forget"
The National War Memorial, the background for this mural, represents all Australians who have given their lives or served their country over the years in all theatres of conflict.
The horsemen represent and honour the 3rd Light Horse Regiment which was raised in Adelaide in the 17th of August 1914. It is believed that a number of their horses were bred in Coromandel Valley.
This mural was made possible by the generous grants from
The City of Mitcham
and
The South Australian Government
