Terrigal War MemorialPrint Page
The monument commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
It consists of what were two war memorials : the Erina District War Memorial and the Terrigal Beach RSL War Memorial. The site of the redevelopment was that of the existing Terrigal Beach RSL War Memorial. It was redeveloped in 2018-2019 to accommodate the relocation of the Erina District War Memorial. The memorial was rededicated on 25 April 2019 in memory of all men and women, and their families, who have dedicated their lives to serve Australia in conflict and in peace.
Created by Central Coast artist Leash Craig, the ‘Brothers in Arms’ statue centrepiece of the rotunda-style monument represents two soldiers of the Great War assisting one another in combat. It is symbolic of the unique bond of mateship and teamwork between those that serve together in times of conflict and in peace. It is also symbolic of the brothers from the local community who lost their lives in battle during World War One as mentioned in the war memorial honour roll located on the plinth supporting the statue.
