Port Sorell Defence MemorialPrint Page Print this page

The Port Sorell Defence Memorial honours service personal from all areas of the Defence Force and to remember all past and present wars and conflicts.

The Memorial consists of a pathway which has dedicated brickwork to both service personnel and community members from the local area. A stainless steel monument, which depicts a returned soldier giving a poppy to a small child in an act of peace, sits on a polished concrete plinth. A lone pine has been planted at the rear of the memorial. The modern, maritime style of the memorial reflects the vibrancy of a town with a growing population and the towns coastal setting.
