The plaque commemorates the personnel who served in No 37 Squadron Royal Australian Air Force (R.A.A.F.) who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. Funding was received in June 2016 through the Saluting Their Service Community Grants Program.
The plaque location is indicated by the red poppy in the second image.
The squadron is located at RAAF Base Richmond, where it operates the C-130J Hercules in the tactical airlift role. Aside from an 18-year hiatus from 1948-1966, No. 37 Squadron has a proud history of conducting safe, effective and reliable airlift operations.The squadron has seen active service flying transport aircraft during World War Two, the Vietnam War, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the military intervention against ISIL. It has also supported Australian humanitarian and peacekeeping operations around the world, including Somalia, East Timor, Bali, Papua New Guinea, and the Phillipines. Its activities are often linked to global crises, flying to some of the toughest environments in the world, and accomplishing significant outcomes for the benefit of Australia.

No. 37 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force
July 1943 - February 1948 / February 1966 -
During the Second World War No. 37 Squadron was established to provide air transport throughout Australia and into New Guinea.
Since then the Squadron has engaged in operations domestically and internationally, supporting Australia`s efforts in conflicts, peacekeeping operations, humanitarian assistance missions, and disaster relief.
This plaque stands in dedication of the aircrew, maintenance personnel, and support staff who kept No. 37 Squadron aircraft on mission, on time, and foremost.
In honour of all who served.
