Invergordon Roll of HonourPrint Page
The wooden honour roll commemorates former pupils of the school and those from the district who served in World Wars One and Two. A World War One Roll was unveiled at the school with a remembrance book in 1921.
Honor boards are being erected in all the schools, and in a goodly number of schools honor books are to be seen. Both a board and a book were unveiled in Invergordon school on Saturday. The complete outfit was purchased and presented to the school by the residents of the locality. Altogether it forms a perfect memorial to men of the district and old school boys who served in the war, and is at the same time, admirably adapted for training the young mind in good citizenship. A very large crowd of people assembled for the unveiling ceremony. Among the many who made the pilgrimage were visitors from Wunghnu, Katamatite, Shepparton, Numurkah, and Tallygaroopna, as well as a strong contingent from every small country community in the district.
Numurkah Leader (Vic), 9 November 1921.
