Etheridge War MemorialPrint Page
The War Memorial commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in whcih Australia has been involved. The memorial lists the names of those from the Etheridge Shire who served in World War One.
The site is on the western banks of the Etheridge River and covers an area of approximately 60 square metres. The project (using local materials) involved the construction of 6 granite spires, up to 1.5 metres high. The spires represent the strength of the people who fought and lost their lives during wartime. Each spire incorporates several plaques bearing the names of local soldiers lost during times of conflict.
Funding of $20788 was received by the Etheridge Shire Council through the Queensland ANZAC Centenary Program.
