RAAF
Junior Equipment and Administrative Trainee Scheme
This plaque is dedicated to all those members who particiapted in the JEAT Scheme
Under the auspices of the RAAF Apprenticeship Scheme, the initial course JEATs commenced training in January 1952 at RAAF Rathmines NSW as Detachment "C" of the RAAF Technical College Wagga.
Two Courses underwent training at Rathmines and in December 1953 JEAT Training was moved to RAAF Base Wagga as a Squadron within the College. A further six courses underwent training at Wagga with the last Course graduating on 30 June 1960.
The Scheme successfully graduated 255 trainees who provided the RAAF with highly skilled and effective logistic support for over 50 years. A large number of these graduates served as Non-Commissioned and Commissioned Officers in logistics, administration, flying and other branches and served overseas in many operational theatres with distinction.
This plaque was dedicated by the Rev. Barry Green (No. 3 Course) at a ceremony held on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary Re-Union Canberra, 15 - 16 November 2002.
