The War Memorial commemorates those who died in service or were killed in action in World War Two and the Korean War. It was dedicated by William Yeo, the then President of the R.S.S.A.I.L.A., on Saturday, 16th September, 1950 following the dedication of the Pearl Beach Progress Association's Memorial Hall.

The monument was paid for, built and donated Arthur John "Jack" Butler to the community of Pearl Beach.
