The War Memorial commemorates Australian servicemen and women who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. A plaque on the the memorial commemorates the sinking of A.H.S. Centaur during World War Two
In 2015, a plaque containing the names of those from the district who served in World War One, was added to commemorate the Centenary of Anzac.

This Plaque Is To Commemorate The Tragic Sinking Of
The Australian Hospital Ship
A.H.S. Centaur
Nurses, Doctors, Medical Staff And Units Of 2 / 12 Field Ambulance Were Among The 268 Lives Lost On May 14th 1943 Off Point Danger Near Coolangatta, Queensland.
At Least 212 Of Those Killed Were Field Ambulance Officers Stationed At Corrimal, New South Wales.
