The hall commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

Steps were taken at the New Norfolk Council meeting yesterday towards laying a foundation stone for the new war memorial hall under construction at the side of the New Norfolk Council Chambers. It was agreed that the Warden (Mr. R. M. Page) should carry out the official ceremony, and that the War Memorial Committee be approached to arrange some suitable function in conjunction with the ceremony. The work on the hall has not advanced beyond the excavation.
