The Van Diemen`s Land Memorial Folk Museum was originally opened to commemorate those who served in World War One and World War Two especially descendants of the pioneer settlers.

The Museum was located in Narryna built by seafarer Captain Andrew Haig in 1834. The Memorial Museum was opened on the 30 November 1957 and is now known as Narryna Heritage Museum.
