The monument commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
It consists of two pillars rising from a tiered platform are linked across the top by a long crosspiece bearing the words, Lest We Forget, and the dates 1914 - 1918 and 1939 - 1945. In the centre is an eternal flame.
