The baptismal font was presented by the Ladies Guild of the Presbyterian Church in memory of the men from the congregation who died in service or were killed in action during World War Two.

At St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Longreach, on Sunday night, the Rev. John Mallyon will preach his farewell sermon prior to his departure for Scone, N.S.W.  He will also dedicate a Communion Table and Font. The Communion Table is to perpetuate the memory of the late James McCracken Howatson, and the Font is in memory of the men who made the supreme sacrifice in the World Wars.
