The Norfolk Pine Tree commemorates Private Austin Strachan Plummer who was killed in action in October 1917 during World War One.  He was a member of the 51st Battalion, and is buried at the Aeroplane Cemetery, Ypres, Flanders, Belgium.

This lone Norfolk Island Pine stands as a living memory to a brave boy who was killed in action at the age of 16 -

He had received the ominus "White Feather" two days after he went into battle his young life ended

Planted by his uncle Victor Plummer about 1920

This area restored and maintained as a community project by the Exeter APEX Club
