Alberton Primary School ANZAC GardenPrint Page
The garden commemorates the centenary of the ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) landings at Gallipoli in Turkey in April 1915 and those who served in World War One.
The garden features storyboards featuring information on Major Julius Keyser, Indigenous Soldier Private Miller Mack and Staff Nurse Laura Jenkins. Julius Keyser and Laura Jenkins resided in Alberton. The mounds in the garden represent the mounds of buried soldiers left in the Somme Valley in France.
Funding was received through the ANZAC Centenary Grants Program.
