Monument commemorates the construction of the Clem 7 tunnel and is dedicated to the 12000 workers who worked on the project since 2006.

The 6.8 kilometre Clem7 is one of the largest infrastructure projects ever to be completed in Queensland.

Construction of the $3 billion tollway commenced in September 2006 and was completed March 2010, 7 months ahead of schedule. The Clem7 opened to traffic in the evening of Monday 15 March 2010, with over 1 million trips recorded in the first 3 weeks of toll-free operation.
