A chair commemorates Jessie Isabella Jones.

Jessie Jones was born on 17th October 1891 at Westbury, the daughter of Thomas Alexander Jones, a farmer, and Agnes Walker..

Jessie had some schooling in Westbury and attended the Presbyterian Church. After her parents died she moved to live in Launceston and there attended Chalmers Church where she became a member of the Presbyterian Girls' Fellowship and took part in many church activities.  She died on 19th August 1950 at her home in Balfour Street.

In her memory a presidential chair was presented to Chalmers Church.  Since the amalgamation of the Chalmers congregation with that of the Paterson Street Methodist Church, the chair has been in constant use at the Paterson Street premises.
