A stained glass window erected by friends commemorates Dr. William Hull Lewis who was synodsman in the church for 20 years. Dr Lewis died in 1875.
St George's, Gawler, April 18.—Present— The Rev. Canon Coombs (in the chair), and a very good representation of the congregation. The Wardens, Dr. Popham and Mr. Thomas Greaves, brought up their report and balance sheet audited, which were passed with a vote of thanks to them. Thanks were also passed to the Synodsmen, Sidesmen, and the Choir. The Chairman spoke in feeling terms in reference to the late Dr. Lewis, who was a sound and useful Churchman, and who represented St. George's in Synod for 20 years. He said friends of the late Dr. Lewis intended placing a memorial window in the church.
