This walkway recognizes the contribution made to the community by the late W. R. (Wally) Parker,  Town Clerk for  the Glen Innes Municipal Council 1955 to 1983.

The walkway was constructed with funding assistance from the New South Wales Bicentennial Council
The Australian Bicentennial Authority Community Employment Program

The walkway was officially opened by Mrs. G. Parker on April 2nd 1988.
