This plaque commemorates the journey of Allan Cunningham through the Lockyer Valley in 1829.

Unveiled by Mr. Douglas Jolly Honorary Director of Tours, Royal Historical Society of Qld.

18th July 1982

Cunningham and his party passed this way on 25th June, 1829.

During this portion of his journey he discovered the Queensland Silver Wattle and the deposits of sandstone which were to become important to the building industry.
