This plaque commemorates the journey of Allan Cunningham through the Lockyer Valley in 1829.

Unveiled by Douglas Jolly, Hon. Director of Tours, Royal Historical Society of Queensland 

18th July 1982

Cunningham and his party passed this way on 27th June, 1829. During this portion of his journey he discovered the Queensland Silver Wattle and the deposits of sandstone which were to become important to the building industry.
