The plaques commemorate the re-enactment of the encounter between Matthew Flinders and Nicholas Baudin in 1802. The re-enactment was undertaken in 1986 as part of the celebration for the South Australia 150 year jubilee.

Of This Island.

On Saturday 18th October, 1986 As Part Of
South Australia`s Jubilee 150 Celebrations
A Re-Enactment Of That Meeting
Was Conducted By Ships Of The British,
French & Australian Navies.
