Lakes Creek War Memorial was erected by the Australian Manufacturing Industries Employees Union (AMIEU) members of the Slaughtering and Casing Department, Lakes Creek Meat Works and commemorates those from the Meat Works who served in World War two. Tributes are also on the monument to Prime Minister John Curtin and General Douglas Macarthur.

The manager of C.Q.M. E. Co. , Mr A.H. Paterson unveiled the war memorial on the 28th November 1947 which members of the casing and slaughtering departments at Lakes Creek had erected and dedicated to the memory of servicemen who enlisted from those departments.
