The plaque commemorates those who served with the 103rd and 111th Anti-Tank Regiments during World War Two.

The 43 Tank attack Battery formally of the 111 Tank attack Regiment joined 103 Tank attack Regiment at Adelaide River. The new Battery relieved the 10 Tank attack Battery who returned to Sydney. When 10 Tank attack Battery (formally M and prior to that 41 T/A Battery) returned to Sydney, it was again renumbered and reverted to its original number, 41 Tank attack Battery, becoming part of 111 Anti tank Regiment. The 43 Tank attack Battery, now in Darwin, was then renumbered, 10 Tank attack Battery.
