Royal Marines Memorial

Memorial commemorates those who served with the Royal Marines during World War Two.

The Royal Marines were formed in 1664 as The Duke of York and Albany`s Maritime Regiment of Foot, basically for duties on land and on His Majesty`s ships. Their greatest honour was the capture and defence of Gibraltar in 1704. The Globe in their cap badge illustrates the fact that they have served in every part of the world since their formation.
