The monument commemorates those who served in World War Two.  It is an obelisk constructed from light-coloured brick, surmounted by a light, and set within a round base garden.

The Governor, Lieut.-General Northcott, yesterday unveiled the Patonga war memorial. A special stone was also unveiled for Flight-Lieut. R. S. Williams. D.F.C., the only one of the men who enlisted from Patonga, who did not return from the last war.
