A number of trees commemorates those who served in World War One.   It is believed that only three trees are still standing.

Two rows of trees were planted in the grounds of the Eldorado State School on the 21st July 1917 to commemorate and perpetuate the memories of the Eldorado Boys who had fought in World War One. The ceremony was attended by about 200 people. Wangaratta Chronicle 25th July 1917.
