The War Menorial commemorates those from the district who served in World War One.

In the presence of one of the largest and most representative gatherings which has assembled at Port Germein for several years, a most impressive ceremony was performed on Saturday afternoon, July 8.

As a token of their gratitude to those who responded to the Empire's call in the hour of its need,  the residents of the district have had erected in a central position in the town, a monument which would do credit to any country town in the State. Rev. F. E. Watts, of Port Pirie, said had met that afternoon-a very great occasion-to unveil a memorial to the soldiers of the district who had offered and given their lives in the greatest war in the history of the world.
Recorder (Port Pirie, SA), 11 July 1922.
